📌Required Documents for a Child’s Application
- A completed, printed, and signed application form.
- A supplementary form.
- A digital color photo of the child (printed photos are not accepted), sent via email to [email protected] (Police and Border Guard Board). See photo requirements.
💡 Photos are not taken at the Embassy.
- Written consent from the other parent if applying for a child under 15 years old.
- Original birth certificate that includes both parents’ details and is authenticated with an apostille.
- Copies of the passports of both parents (as listed on the birth certificate).
- A copy of the child’s U.S. passport, if available.
- Payment of the state fee.
💡 At the embassy or consular mission, payment can only be made by credit/debit card or contactless payment.

- Original birth certificate including both parents’ details, authenticated with an apostille.
- Original birth certificate of a parent/grandparent, including both parents’ details, authenticated with an apostille, if the certificate has been issued in the U.S.
- If your or your ancestors’ last name has changed, you must submit an original marriage certificate or name change document, authenticated with an apostille.
- A copy of your valid U.S. passport.
- A document proving ancestor’s Estonian citizenship, usually an archive certificate, which can be requested at this link.
- Payment of the state fee.
