Requesting a New PIN-Code

If you have forgotten the PIN codes for your ID card, digital ID, e-resident card, or residence permit card, or if the security envelope containing the PIN codes is lost, you need to request a new security envelope to continue using e-services or giving digital signatures.

💡New PIN-codes can be issued at an Embassy only for ID cards that were issued before November 17, 2025. Information about replacing ID envelopes issued from November 17, 2025 onwards can be found here.

📌 Before requesting a new PIN code:

  • Make sure your ID card is still valid. If the card has expired, you must apply for a new document.
  • If the ID card certificates are valid, the PIN codes can be changed at the Embassy or during a consular mission.
